Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JLPT Vocab: Learn Japanese N5+ (the "App"), the website at jlpt.optimum-tech.org, and related services operated by Optimum Tech ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

The App is intended for people aged 13 and older. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your password and device secure, and all activity under your account. Do not share your account or impersonate another person.

You may create an account with email and password or use Google Sign-In. When you use Google Sign-In, Google authenticates you and we receive the account information described in our Privacy Policy. We never receive your Google password.

2. Using the App

The App provides Japanese-learning content, quizzes, games, progress tracking, social features, and related educational tools. Content and features may change as we improve the service. Your progress and account data are stored to provide the service across supported devices.

You must not misuse the App, attempt to bypass learning, reward, rate, or access controls, interfere with the service, scrape or reverse engineer it except where applicable law permits, upload malicious material, or use social features to harass, abuse, spam, or distribute unlawful content.

3. User content and community features

You retain ownership of content you submit, such as messages, posts, comments, and reports. You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate and moderate the App.

You are responsible for your submissions. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or the safety of other users. Direct messages are intended for the participants and may be stored temporarily as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Virtual currency and digital items

The App may provide experience points, virtual currency, badges, avatars, decorations, and other digital items. These are licensed digital features, have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and may not be sold or transferred outside the App. We may correct balances or remove items obtained through abuse or error.

5. Premium subscriptions and payments

Premium features may be offered through Google Play or another payment platform shown at purchase. The applicable platform's payment terms, renewal rules, cancellation process, and refund policies apply to that transaction. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

A subscription may renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant platform before renewal. Premium access ends when the subscription expires or is cancelled, subject to the platform's rules.

6. Intellectual property

The App, its software, design, branding, and original content belong to Optimum Tech or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended educational purpose.

7. Availability and disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular learning result. The App is an educational aid and does not guarantee a JLPT score, exam result, or fluency.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or our rights, including for serious or repeated violations of these Terms. Account deletion and data handling are described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App or applicable requirements change. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App where appropriate. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
